A little information about me and my work :)

Hello There!  My name is Amie and I am responsible for the art listed on this website.  Polymer Clay has been a passion of mine for a few years.  I originally got into clay when my son was born.  After purchasing a few books and a few canes, I got the general idea of what needed to be done and my art career took off.

Polymer Clay is a low fire, man made clay that is produced by several companies around the world.  It can be baked in a regular oven and is very easy to work with.

Polymer Clay Canes are created by building layers of clay into a picture of some type.  When I describe the process to people, I use the analogy of building with Legos.  Caning is a technique that is over a thousand years old and was used in glass making in Italy.

The canes that you will see that are featured in my jewelry were purchased from Layl McDill.  I have not yet reached the ability level that she has mastered with making intricate pictures within canes.  My caning consists of mainly flowers and leaves.

My jewelry findings are sterling silver plated and the beads are: lampwork, gemstone, glass, polymer clay, or Swarovski crystals.  I use only the best products in my jewelry.

I use quality tins and glassware for my covered vessels.  The jars that I have covered with clay are all airtight and ready to hold candy or whatever your heart desires.  The care of the glassware is very simple.  Wash it with mild soap, nothing abrasive and keep them out of the dishwasher.
